Aquafaba is the latest trend in vegan cooking & baking. It is the viscous water in which beans like chickpeas have been cooked in. It can be used as an egg white substitute in many sweet and savory recipes. It’s recommended for beginners to use the liquid from canned chickpea. It can be whipped into semi-stiff peaks and added to recipes as a whipped egg white substitute.

Lancaster’s new plant-based powered eatery is set to open in September of 2018. Tivoni – Pronounced “TivONee”, means “Vegan” in Hebrew, chef Gili Kieffer’s native language.
The cafe will take a spot at 805 Rohrestown Rd. that is former home of NY Bagel shop and will be opened for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday and ready-to-go breakfast items served Tuesday through Friday. Tivoni will have seating for up to 30 customers, including pick up options at the counter.
